When you start a blog, each of us has a reason, a purpose:
- "I want a place to say what they think."
- "Everybody has a blog, why I have not."
- "I want people to know me."
- "I want to share what they know in a particular area."
Result is a hobby blog, powered (most likely) the pleasure and the desire to communicate. But a blog can be much more than just a hobby. And depends only on us to get to the next level.
Blogging can be seen as a business!
First, the organization, objectives, timelines, budgets, investments. Such an approach increases the blog (who does not want to have many visitors?) And at a time, allowing monetization and profit.
A digression: in blogging, making money may not be an end in itself. We must first give something of value in order to sell. And blogs provide one of the most valuable assets in our world: information.
How to look at blogging as a business?
Own Domain
First step: buy your own domain! I kept saying on this blog : if you want to go somewhere with your blog, you need own domain. Blogs on blogspot, wordpress, and others, are too trivial. Monetization of such a blog is an almost impossible task.
The image that exposes such a blog is one of frivolity, poverty, lack of opportunities.Clearly not the image you want to promote it to your blog.
Sets a
Every company must have a clear field of activity. Likewise, a blog must have a direction, a target audience. This direction should be clear in the first place for the owner / author.
Set goals
What do you propose to get the blog? How many unique visitors per month? How's subscriber? Establish where you want to get into a certain period of time! Otherwise, you may treat blogging like going to the gym .
Prepare a budget. Invest!
If you're not ready to invest in the blog, then you better not do. Investment can mean money but also time. Establish how much you are willing to invest: how long and what budget. Investments should be made to achieve the objectives. The more you invest so you have more chances to succeed!
Important: Invest in your own education! Read books, courses and you will get benefits that exceed the long term, much cost.
Evaluate results
Regularly assesses the achievement of objectives. Umareste investment results: monitor traffic , revenues, expenses, etc..
Use professional tools
WordPress is an excellent option for managemetnul a blog and there are many free themes and plugins. But to create a more serious and credible, you must use professional tools: both in terms of design and in terms of promotion. Using a free template that is used by many other blogs, picture brings disadvantages.
Treat readers as clients
Normally, a small percentage of visitors come to a blog or clients (and all customers are consumers of advertising). And it's normal to be a small percentage. But treating each guest with the attention and respect that it deserves a client, this percentage will increase.
Innovate!
I do not have to write too much about the importance of innovation. Try to be different than others! Give more!
Monetizeaza carefully
Biggest mistake that most bloggers make is to believe that making money from blogging is to show advertisements (in this case Google Adsense). Nothing could be further from the truth. To make serious money from AdSense you must have consistent traffic, and sometimes even this is not enough. You have to take a large number of readers coming from search engines (organic traffic) and in fact looking for something. They will click on ads, if you do not find what your looking blog. Ironic, huh?
If you have many loyal readers, the Adsense revenue generated by them will be almost 0.
The good news is that there are other mechanisms that allow significant gains, such asaffiliate marketing, eBooks, membership sites, their products, etc.. (I'll be back with more details on this aspect in future articles.)
When you going to monetise your blog has to do with heads. Take the example of other successful blogs as ProBlogger.net , ZenHabits.net , JohnChow.com , etc..
